Part-Time Acupuncturist

The Part-Time Acupuncturist, in the field of integrative health and medicine reaffirms the importance of the relationship between practitioner and patient, focuses on the whole person, is informed by evidence, and makes use of all appropriate therapeutic approaches, healthcare professionals and professions to achieve optimal health and healing. Simply put, integrative health and medicine offer best practices for optimal health and healing. The Acupuncturist will provide acupuncture services to a variety of clients who suffer from conditions that are amenable to treatment with this modality. In addition to direct service delivery, the person in this position is also responsible for documenting the services provided, as well as communication with referral sources and other treating providers as needed. Must be able to work some Saturdays. Weekdays Mondays/Tuesdays. 20 hours/week.

Responsibilities include:

• Clinical Services: Evaluate, determine, and provide an appropriate acupuncture treatment plan for each client. Collaborate with other health care professionals as required.
• Clinical Documentation: Document all services provided with goals for each treatment and ensure documentation meets professional standards. Share treatment information with other treating providers as required.
• Educational Materials: Develop and present educational materials that support and expand on acupuncture therapies and traditional oriental medicine approaches to healing.
• Educational Programs: Develop and present workshops, classes, and ongoing programs that target health/ wellness topics to be offered to clients and team members.
• Research: Participate in the identification and implementation of research to further elucidate the current therapeutic approaches. Generates ideas for possible research in the area of mind body therapy.
• Client and Team Member Safety: Demonstrates understanding of their role in developing and maintaining an environment that is safe for clients and team members.
• Compliance: Reports environmental risks or equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
• Team Member Relations: Interacts with practice and provider staff in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications include:

• Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Master's Degree. A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Acupuncturist. Formal training in acupuncture and completion of a professional educational program in a clinical health care specialty. Experience working in a multidisciplinary setting. Demonstrates a good understanding of holistic healthcare and integrative medicine. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills.
• Licenses and Certifications Required: New Jersey Licensed Acupuncturist.

Compensation: Minimum rate of $53,164.80 Annually.
