Accounts Payable Specialist -Non-Profit

The Accounts Payable Associate will be responsible for processing invoices, managing payments, and ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the organization's accounts payable processes. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:

• Process and verify invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely payment
• Perform 3-way matching for purchase orders, receipts, and invoices
• Manage vendor records, including new vendor setups and W-9 collection
• Prepare weekly check runs, ACH, and wire transfers
• Reconcile credit card and bank statements
• Handle expense reports and ensure compliance with company policies
• Assist with month-end close, including accruals and reconciliations
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for all payables
• Support the preparation of 1099s for applicable vendors
• Communicate professionally with vendors and internal teams to resolve inquiries and discrepancies

Qualifications:

• 2 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar)
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Professional communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Familiarity with nonprofit accounting practices is a plus
