Accessioning Technician

As an Accessioning Technician, you will be responsible for receiving and processing laboratory samples including urine, plasma, serum, and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). You will accession clinical samples in the Laboratory Management System and manage any discrepancies that may arise. Additionally, you will report deviations to your supervisor and adhere to CLIA, CAP, HIPAA, OSHA, and related safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process laboratory samples such as urine, plasma, serum, and CSF.
• Accession clinical samples in the Laboratory Management System.
• Manage discrepancies in clinical samples.
• Report deviations to the supervisor.
• Follow CLIA, CAP, HIPAA, OSHA, and related safety guidelines.

Essential Skills

• Experience with accessioning and laboratory processes.
• Proficiency in data entry and handling.
• Basic knowledge of biology.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous medical or production experience.
• Prior experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).

Work Environment

You will work in a laboratory setting with no specific personal protective equipment or certifications required. The team consists of approximately 20 people, primarily technologists, offering opportunities for cross-functional collaboration. This role provides valuable experience in a CLIA lab and exposure to various PCR/DNA extraction techniques at a growing diagnostic company.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Waltham, Massachusetts. Hours are first shift 8am-5pm Mon-Fri.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
