Work Arrangement:

Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Charlotte Technical Centre in Charlotte, NC on a full-time basis.

The Team

We are seeking a Junior Aerodynamics Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. Your primary task is to support the development and operation of tools that enable and improve the productivity and capability of our motorsport aerodynamics activities. As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you'll be at the forefront of designing, developing, and optimizing state-of-the-art solutions to overcome a range of challenging technical obstacles.

What You'll Do

• Support the design, development, and integration of mechatronic systems to be used for aerodynamic testing applications.
• Define system specifications that meet application requirements.
• Identify and evaluate mechatronic products from external suppliers for suitability for our applications.
• Design mechanical, electrical and control system components
• Conduct system-level testing, analysis, and debugging to ensure the functionality, reliability, and performance of the systems you help develop.
• Support the delivery of both prototype and production solutions

Required Qualifications

• Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: Aerodynamics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related area
• Must be graduating between December 2026 - June 2027
• Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week during the summer months

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

• Proficient in aerodynamics, robotics, design, mathematics and numerical/data analysis
• Participation in Formula Student
• Understanding of the principles of mechanical, electrical, and software system design.
• Understanding of the principles of control systems and design
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA) for mechanical design.

Start dates for this internship role are May 18 & June 15 of 2026.
